19 of the Russian's 21 victories have been achieved on hard courts
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his initial title for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.
Medvedev, a former number one, has had a challenging season, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the US Open.
The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serving in particular - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and finally separating with former coach Cervara.
Presently collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial trophy following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard court after that period of 2023.
The win also indicates Medvedev has won 21 titles at twenty-one distinct tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a championship is especially meaningful," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in honour of my second daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, including in the German tournament previously this season.
His defensive play style and regular emotional displays on the tennis court had prompted some to question if his capacity to compete at the elite level was concluded.
However the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and play assertively, supported by an improved serve.
The champion came back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging opponent, securing four of the final five points to take the lead.
The pair swapped service breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his first tour victory, took control to create a final set.
The opponent saved 4 early opportunities in a competitive final set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
